Theme your Wedding at The Boma Have you ever dreamed of getting married in a magical forest, surrounded by the sights and sounds of South Africa’s beautiful natural environment? If so, The Boma is the ideal venue for your special day. Set under large established trees in a cobbled courtyard, The Boma is a Luxury Safari Restaurant that offers an outdoor African experience combined with service excellence, function facilities and professional function co-ordination

Serving as a popular function venue since 1998, The Boma has recently been refurbished and specialises in African Safari Picnics and Unforgettable Functions. Equipped with undercover seating for up to 120 guests, a large dance floor with a bar area, and a beautiful country garden, The Boma is the ideal venue for Wedding Services and Receptions.

You can say your vows in our chapel area and while you have your photographs taken, your guests will enjoy cocktails on our magnificent lawn. The Boma’s seating area provides a wonderful atmosphere for social meals and our dance floor and bar ensure a festive wedding celebration.

A good atmosphere is key to a successful wedding and our Wedding Coordinator will be able to ensure that your wedding runs exactly as planned, from the décor, to the catering and order of events. Excellent food is served through a variety of menus, ranging from Carvery or Spitbraai to Plated and Buffet Meals. A full bar is available, and run with integrity.

Within easy driving distance from central Port Elizabeth (5km from Walmer), The Boma is located at 424 Sardinia Bay Road in Lovemore Park.

Venue Hire Includes:

  • Exclusive use of The Boma for the duration of the function, until 12pm
  • White scalloped drapes with fairy lights in the Boma seated area
  • Scatter cushions around the fireplaces
  • A full sound system with CD changer
  • One parking attendant
  • Sufficient bar attendants   

DÉCOR
Should you require décor, you are more than welcome to arrange décor for the venue or décor can be arranged at an extra cost. Please note that we do not permit the use of paper confetti at The Boma and only permit  the use of natural substances such as rose petals

BAR FACILITIES
We are a fully licensed venue and offer full cash bar facilities.

 

EXTRA COSTS
Bonfires - We do offer x2 small Bonfires for evening functions which add ambiance to the atmosphere. The purchase of the wood will last the whole evening through.

Belly Dancers - Can confirm availability and price thereof depending on what you require.

Bongo Drummers – The Boma is fortunate to have Bongo Drummers at their service. They do not only drum themselves, but get the crowd involved too. Contact us for fees and availability.

Waitrons – We usually suggest one waitron per 20 guests and the cost thereof is included in the price per person package.

Dance floor and music – There is no charge for our dance floor as the venue fee is included in the package prices. We do not have a DJ but do offer the use of our 5 disk CD player and prefer to suggest that you provide the music of everyone’s choice. Should you require the services of a DJ, we will be more than happy to acquire one obviously at extra cost.

We also offer wine and/or champagne for the tables and charge per bottle.

Please note:
Send an E-Card Invitation A deposit of 50% is required to secure your function booking. This deposit will be offset against your final invoice. This deposit is non-refundable.
Guests are permitted to bring their own champagne and wine, a corkage fee does apply.
Payment in full is due one week prior to the function date.
Venue hire is until 5pm for lunchtime functions and until 12pm for dinner functions.
Please understand that like most venues, our closing time is 12pm.
